almost perfect night

tonight was an almost perfect night.

i went to watch Pride and Prejudice, the modern version with Matthew Macfadyen and Keira Knightley. when i say modern i don't mean all-out modern but there was a slight modernisation in the language and gesture of the times. other than that, i loved it. from the beginning to the end. at first i was very sceptical about it as i'd watched the BBC production with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle and i absolutely adored it. then rae watched it and she said it was really nice. and rae and i have about the same taste in movies. and i thought, i'd better go and see it then. my gosh, even after the show i was still in Pride and Prejudice Land. it was just simply magnificent. Keira Knightley was a slightly different Elizabeth from the one i know but she played up to the part very well. i was sceptical about Matthew Macfadyen stepping into the shoes of the ever infamous Mr Darcy whose shoes once fitted so well onto Colin Firth. but he was spot on and excellent. i can still see Darcy walking out from horizon onto the sunrise-shaded grass. so tall and stately. and meeting Elizabeth when he sees her. and then, the part when their noses touch and the sun's morning rays shines through both of them. but, they don't kiss. *sighs* perfect! absolutely perfect. it would've killed it if they did. they still kept to the same wit and humour Jane Austen possesses in the book, but with slight change in wording to keep with the modernisation. excellent. now i can choose whether i want to watch a 6-hour long Pride and Prejudice or a 2 hour one. i love Pride and Prejudice! thank you Jane Austen! the female author of the 19th century. i am absolutely in love with it. i'm definitely going to watch it again.

another reason why this night was almost perfect was that they're showing Gunpowder, Treason and Plot on Hallmark with Clemence Poesy aka Fleur Delacour from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, coz i wanted to see what her acting was like in it (great show so far) and... it's a full moon tonight!
