up!

these past few days seem to be looking up and i'm very thankful for that.

THANK YOU GOD!!!

on friday i went to watch a play with some of the 2nd years from my course. it was called "Baal" by Bertolt Brecht. it was really good and i liked the minimalistic staging and props though some of the scenes seemed cut-short. i have a feeling it was done on purpose. but time seemed to wiz by so fast. Baal is a man who falls in love with a lady. but he ends up being a womanizer and has a reputation for being so. so every woman ends up knowing about Baal and he can have up to 10 women in one night. (well it sure looked that way). but then they all suffer the consequences of Baal's absence after having any kind of affair or relationship. they all end up pregnant. and Baal goes mad and ends up killing his good friend Eckhart. the play began with the ending, where Baal was dancing in a club with two friends (to Madonna's "Frozen"), and then he kills Eckhart after getting into a sort of fight. and the play ended with just the dancing part. there were all these nuances which they brought out which made the play really enjoyable. good amount of drama. good amount of comedy. hope the play we make next year can be as good as that!

after that, my mum and i had dinner with a.wilma, len and my cousins, melissa, tracey and her beautiful daughter Jasmine who's about 2 or 3 yrs old. this is crazy. my cousins seem to have really good looking children. i hope that's a big family trait. HAHA! went to this restaurant down Newcastle Street called Cinnamon Club, an indian, quite up-market restaurant. but the food was really good and authentic. loved it all. but had a bit too much! came home feeling very bloated. but it was all good. =)

yesterday, nothing much went on except that a.carol had reserved a table for 10 of us at this recreation club about 10 mins away, and it was a CNY celebration for the chinese here. no, they don't celebrate CNY the same time as us. well, apparently they don't. so there i was going for this celebration with a.carol, u.faizal, u.gerry, a.florence and my mum and i. the other four at the table with us were a.carol's friends morgan and his wife and maureen and her husband. basically speaking, i was the only young one there. and i mean that so seriously. everyone else looked at least 40 and above. but! the fun part was watching everyone dancing and making fun of a few dancing a bit wonky. haha. but almost everyone wore their dancing shoes. literally. and they all knew either salsa, rhumba, quick-step, big-step, waltz, tango and line dancing! so it was either couples dancing, or everyone dancing line dancing. haha. quite cute lah. but some were really good. i'd have taken my hat off to them if i had a hat on!! came back by about 11.30pm plus.

slept by about 12ish and woke up for mass at 8am. went for brekkie at 9 plus at Farrell's at Vic Park. had such a huge breakfast. bacon, scrambled eggs, beans, toast, a bit of veggie. but i didn't manage to finish up the toast and tomatoes coz the egg was already so much and the beans of course. but managed to finish 95% of it. thought i wasn't going to be able to eat lunch! but i did. then sent my mum off to the airport. she should be back in singapore as i'm writing this. probably just getting out of the airport and going into the car or something. then went for a barbie(BBQ) at Hyde Park, organised by the 2nd yrs from my course. most of the 2nd years we met were there and some of us 1st years. but coz i went a bit late i wasn't sure if anyone had left early. we basically just chilled out a bit and had more of a picnic. it was a nice day but very hot. thank goodness there was wind! then two 2nd yr girls were playing soccer. well they were more kicking the ball to each other, not exactly playing soccer. so my friend clementine and i joined them. then another guy from 1st year joined in too and one of our lecturers Ralf joined later. haha. that was fun. and i was reminded of a broken toe nail and a bruised face. for anyone who knows and can remember. came back about 2 hours later.

coz we were halfway watching Miss Congeniality 2 before my mum went off, a.carol and i finished watching the rest. then we had dinner, watched a bit of telly and now i'm here half watching tv and writing my blog. Category 7: The End of the World - show i'm watching. can't wait for Desperate Housewives tomorrow!

things seem to be looking up. i've made new friends and i feel like things are going to be better than what i thought. well, we'll see how tomorrow goes, the day i officially start school. apparently there's tai chi involved. haha. will let y'all know how that goes.

need to sleep soon.

g'night everybody!!
